Many of you may know that I applied to become a Leadership Consultant for Alpha Gamma Delta International but I received my letter from International last Saturday informing me that I had not been chosen to meet for in person interviews. At first, I was quite upset about being denied this opportunity because I love Alpha Gam more than a lot of things in my life right now! I knew that I would do a great job and that I would be such a huge asset. That being said, I now know that "everything happens for a reason". I found out on Saturday about LC and then went to school on Monday to be welcomed with such warm smiles from my little 4th graders. They were in an especially happy mood and that made me in a happy mood as well. Well, my cooperating teacher became ill on Tuesday afternoon and was absent on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday....yes, 3 whole days!!!! I am so thankful that she was out these three days because it really opened my eyes to show that I was truly meant to teach!! I am going to teach lives...I am going to make a difference! This amazes me everyday that I wake up at 5:30 in the morning! I apparently was loving life so much that I woke up for school at 5:20 on Friday morning without an alarm and was so excited about getting to school....I found that this is what it's all about! It also doesn't hurt that I get complimented on an everyday basis on well I am doing in the classroom and that I am an amazing student teacher. Every day I am rewarded in some way, shape, or form from either a co-worker (I guess we will call them this...they get paid, I don't!), student, or teacher.
That's it...I'm going to teach! I am glad that I have a satisfaction in knowing that I have chosen a career that I am good at, I enjoy doing, and I can't imagine being anywhere else....except maybe traveling the USA with Alpha Gam International but that desire will soon pass I'm sure! I can't wait to go to England and see what else teaching reveals to me! Less than 1 month and I will be sitting on a plane with my BESTEST BEST FRIEND IN THE WORLD!
