So, I guess I am going to blog until March!!

I have decided that maybe it would be fun to blog even before I head to England in March.  I found that A LOT of my friends blog on an everyday basis and I thought I would do the same!!

This week I have been working A LOT and have loved almost every minute of it.  Savannah decided to take the week off to spend time at home with family so it has been Kayna and myself all week.  Crazy would be an understatement to how crazy it has been.  People do not have patience and they especially do not understand what "it will be done in time for Christmas" means.  They think that this means that it will be done a week before Christmas when they just placed the order.  We told you it would be done by Christmas Eve at noon and you agreed to that timeline and now you are saying that you need it five days earlier?!?!? I'm sorry...NOT GONNA HAPPEN!! Kayna and I have laughed more this week than you could ever imagine because apparently the holidays bring the "Nuggets" out of the hills and we have experienced some very interesting individuals!! I wish that I had a hidden camera on so that I had pictures to share but I am sure that many of you know what kind of people I am referring to! Too funny!!

Well, that pretty much wraps up my week.  When I get off work at 6, I go back to my apartment and cook dinner, watch Bones, and work on my newest little's "stuff"!! I am getting very excited for initiation and having a new sister!! I could not be more proud of my two little ones, Missy and Ashton.  They make their Momma proud!! Well, until I post again....

I'm New To This Whole Thing

As I was sitting in class this morning with my lovely little fourth graders, I realized that I would be leaving for England in about 3 month and I kinda started freaking out!! As many of you already know, I am going to England in March with my best friend, Melea, and two other amazing girls in the Education Program, Lindsey Allison and Kayla Duckworth.  We will be there for 4 weeks and will return in time for Spring Break.  We will be able to visit for 2 weeks in a Special Education school along with a general education school for 2 weeks and observe England's education program, Every Child Matters.

I am very excited about this new adventure.  I have never flown in a commercial aircraft before, I have never been away from my family for a month at a time, I have never been out of the country, and I have never had to live with complete strangers! A lot of nevers!

Many may ask..."Why did Ashley start a blog...she's never blogged before!" Well, I do not like to type about my entire day and every step by step but I would rather type it so that a couple (maybe hundreds!!) of people can read instead of me telling the story over and over.  I am also wanting to share my experience with my fourth graders and my future students.  Gainesville City Schools don't block blogs so it allows my students to be able to pull it up at school and see all the pictures that I have taken and learn from the experience that I am participating in.

So....here is my first blog post!!! I hope that each of you will enjoy!

P.S. I feel like Amy Adams on "Julie and Julia" and I look forward to seeing how many followers I will find and maybe I will end up receiving a call from someone like....I don't know....the future Princess Kate or someone!! YAY first blog successful!!!
